Teaching Assistant

GSL Education are currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive school in South Shields
. This Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone looking to gain valuable school-based experience and make a real difference to pupils’ learning and development.

As a Teaching Assistant
, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils across the curriculum and help create a positive and inclusive learning environment. The school is keen to appoint a Teaching Assistant who is proactive, caring, and eager to grow within the role.

• Supporting pupils with their learning in line with the national curriculum.
• Assisting the class teacher with daily classroom activities.
• Supporting behaviour and promoting positive engagement in lessons.
• Working with small groups or on a one-to-one basis when required.
• Helping to deliver creative and engaging learning activities.
• Providing a high standard of safeguarding and pastoral care as a Teaching Assistant
  .

Please note, this Teaching Assistant position requires a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection. All successful applicants must satisfy safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
