Salary: up to £16,685 dependent on working hours agreed.

Hours:

30 per week, Term Time Only (37 weeks)

Tyne Metropolitan College – Student Services, Safeguarding and Inclusion – Learning Support Assistant (RTF
2526-12). Position:
Permanent, Part Time, 25‑30 hours per week, Term Time Only (37 weeks). Salary scale:
Professional Services Salary Scale 3;
Spine points 8‑11. Actual salary for 30 hours, term time only 37 weeks is £16,685.99. Actual part‑time salary will be based on the hours agreed.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide tailored support to learners with a range of disabilities, both in group settings and one‑to‑one.
  • Assist in the delivery of learning programmes, including support with Maths and English.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work closely with teaching staff and support teams to ensure learners reach their full potential.
Essential Requirements
  • Experience supporting SEND learners across a range of disabilities.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at Grade C/Level 2 or willingness to work towards.
  • Strong communication and ICT skills.
  • A positive, empathetic attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable
  • Experience supporting learners with behaviours that challenge.
  • Experience supporting learners in Maths and English.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Education and Training.
  • Higher level teaching assistant qualification.
  • Awareness of current developments in Further Education and SEND.
