Position: Lecturer in Construction (Multi-Skills)

Lecturer In Construction (Multi-Skills)

Permanent RTF
2425-60 – 37 hours per week. Competitive salary. 864 teaching hours per annum. The college has now implemented a 12.30 finish each Friday, which is applicable to this post. Closing Date:
Sunday 30th March 2025.

Job Responsibilities
  • Preparing and delivering course material to a range of programmes.
  • Carrying out a range of lecturing and associated functions in connection with classroom teaching, tutorial work, assessment, adult courses and student placements as required.
  • Carrying out tutorial duties and assisting with the provision of an effective counselling service to students on academic, non-academic and welfare matters as required.
  • Undertaking liaison activities with parents/guardians, schools and employers as necessary.
  • Working as a member of one or more course teams and taking responsibility for the administration and management of specified courses or subject areas as required.
  • Participating in curriculum development activities.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Practical teaching skills and experience, particularly in Bricklaying and Plastering.
  • Experience of teaching and assessing multi-skills (construction) qualifications.
  • Knowledge of safe working practices, communication skills and the ability to work efficiently and effectively to prepare learners for employment and apprenticeship.
  • Full responsibility for allocated learners to ensure retention, progression and achievement.
  • Ability to deliver underpinning theory in a classroom setting and provide practical training within workshop environments.

Reporting to the Curriculum Lead.
