We’re working with a specialist pupil referral provision in South Shields seeking dedicated Pastoral Mentors to join their supportive team.

The provision supports pupils with SEMH needs across two sites and focuses on developing confidence, resilience and positive relationships to help pupils achieve their potential.

What you’ll be doing

Providing pastoral and emotional support to pupils
Supporting attendance, engagement and wellbeing
Building positive and trusting relationships
Encouraging pupils to make positive choices
Supporting behaviour management strategies
Working closely with teaching staff and external professionals

What we’re looking for

A caring and supportive nature
Experience working with young people
Excellent communication and listening skills
The ability to remain calm and professional
A genuine passion for helping pupils succeed
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
