Marine Park Primary School – Teacher & SENDCO (TLR2b)
Location:
South Shields, Tyne and Wear.
Contract:
Permanent. Working pattern: 32.5 hours per week. Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR2b.
Start date:
January 2027 or earlier by mutual agreement.
We are seeking an outstanding, experienced and highly motivated teacher who is passionate about inclusive education. The successful candidate will lead SEND provision across the school while maintaining a teaching commitment and play a key role in ensuring pupils with additional needs achieve the very best outcomes.
Responsibilities- Teach outstandingly in the primary classroom and secure excellent outcomes for pupils.
- Hold the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO).
- Co‑ordinate and lead SEND provision within the primary setting.
- Apply the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation.
- Work effectively with pupils who have a wide range of additional needs.
- Support and challenge colleagues to deliver high‑quality inclusive practice.
- Build strong partnerships with families, external agencies and other professionals.
- Commit to securing the best possible outcomes for all children.
- Have high aspirations for, and care passionately about, all children.
- Secure excellent educational outcomes for all pupils.
- Be hardworking, ambitious and prepared to go the extra mile.
- Show empathy with children, recognising their individual needs and achievements.
- Work positively as part of a dedicated and supportive team.
- Qualified primary teacher with a proven record of teaching excellence.
- Qualified SENDCO holding NASENCO.
- Experience leading SEND provision in a primary setting.
- Understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
Applicants must hold the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO). The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. Tyne and Wear Learning Trust safeguards and protects its pupils and staff in accordance with Local Safeguarding Board Procedures. The Trust employs safer recruitment practices, and pre‑employment checks will be undertaken before any appointment is confirmed.
