Are you a Qualified Teaching Assistant who understands that progress looks different for every child?
We’re supporting specialist schools in South Shields looking for compassionate and skilled Teaching Assistants to work with pupils with autism and additional communication needs.
What you’ll be doing- Supporting pupils with autism during learning and transitions
- Using visual aids and communication strategies
- Promoting emotional regulation and engagement
- Working closely with teachers and therapists
- Helping pupils build confidence and independence
- Qualified TA status (Level 2/3 or equivalent)
- Experience supporting autism or complex needs
- A consistent, reliable, and nurturing approach
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- A commitment to inclusion and child‑centred support
