Protocol Education is recruiting Behaviour Support Teaching Assistants to join specialist SEMH settings across South Shields this September.

This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with SEMH, ADHD, Autism and additional behavioural needs who require consistent, nurturing adults to help them succeed. You'll work as part of a dedicated team committed to creating a safe, inclusive and therapeutic learning environment where every child has the opportunity to thrive.

Role Details
  • Full-time
  • September 2026 start
  • Monday-Friday
  • Working hours between 8:30am-3:30pm and 8:30am-4:30pm
  • Term-time only
  • Long-term position with permanent opportunities
Responsibilities
  • Providing 1:1 and classroom support
  • Promoting positive behaviour strategies
  • Supporting emotional wellbeing
  • Assisting with behaviour management plans
  • Building strong, trusting relationships

    Working alongside teachers, therapists and pastoral teams
  • Helping pupils achieve both academic and personal goals

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
