We're currently recruiting for a Cover Supervisor to work in
secondary schools in South Tyneside on a long-term or day-to-day basis
, starting in September
.

Your Main Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Supervising whole classes during the short-term absence of the classroom teacher.
  • Delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects at KS3 and KS4
    .
  • Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive, purposeful learning environment.
  • Supporting pupils to remain engaged and complete the work set by the class teacher.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, participation, and respect within the classroom.
  • Providing feedback to teaching staff on pupil engagement, progress, and behaviour.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and staff to support continuity of learning.
  • Following school behaviour, safeguarding, and attendance policies at all times.
Requirements &

Skills:
  • Experience working with children or young people in a school, coaching, youth work, tutoring, or similar setting.
  • A confident and professional approach with strong classroom management skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and confidently across different subjects and classrooms.
  • A degree or relevant experience is desirable but not essential.
