We’re currently recruiting for an Education & Learning Mentor to work within welcoming and supportive Primary Schools, starting in September
.
This exciting opportunity is ideal for graduates and experienced support staff who are passionate about supporting children’s educational journeys and helping them reach their full potential.
As an Education & Learning Mentor, you’ll work closely with pupils across the Primary age range, providing academic, social and emotional support to help them engage with learning, build confidence and achieve success in the classroom.
This role is particularly suited to individuals considering careers in teaching, educational psychology, SEND, speech and language therapy, youth work, social work or pastoral support.
Your Main ResponsibilitiesSupport pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 on a one-to-one, small group and classroom basis.
Deliver targeted interventions in Reading, Writing and Maths.
Support children with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language needs and SEMH.
Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and improve engagement within the classroom.
Promote confidence, resilience and independence.
Support social, emotional and communication development.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENDCOs and pastoral teams.
Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
Assist with classroom activities, learning resources and lesson preparation.
Contribute to a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

Psychology

Primary Education
BA Education
MA Education
MA Education (SEND and Inclusion)
Youth Work
Social Work
Teaching Assistant roles
SEND Support roles
Degree obtained within the last five years or relevant experience supporting children and young people.
Professional employment references covering the last two years.
A genuine passion for education and child development.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A proactive, positive and adaptable approach.
Experience working with children or young people is desirable.
Understanding of SEND, Autism, ADHD, SEMH or Speech and Language needs is advantageous.
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience and the requirements of the assignment.
