Hours: Monday–Friday, school hours
Pay: £98–£120 per day, depending on experience
Protocol Education are looking for qualified and experienced Teaching Assistants to work across primary, secondary and specialist SEND settings in South Shields.
This is a great opportunity for someone who already has experience supporting children and young people and is looking for a new long-term school placement.
The RoleYou could be supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including:
- SEND and learning difficulties
- Autism
- SEMH and behavioural needs
- Communication difficulties
- Complex needs
- 1:1 and small-group support
Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting pupils within lessons
- Working 1:1 and in small groups
- Supporting learning and interventions
- Encouraging positive behaviour
- Helping pupils develop independence
- Working closely with teachers and wider support staff
- Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent experience
- Previous experience working in a school or education setting
- A patient, reliable and positive approach
- Good communication and relationship-building skills
- Confidence supporting pupils with additional needs
- A genuine commitment to helping children succeed
- £98–£120 per day

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
