Senior Care Advocate

We are looking to expand our Senior Carer Team at Haven Courtand are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals with care experience to join our team. You will hold an NVQ level 3 or above in Health & Social Care with experience working with older people, those with dementia and/or those who are nearing end of life.

Weare an 80-bedded, purpose built facility providing a comprehensive range ofservices. This includes long term residential and nursing care services,reablement and respite services, the Cedar Unit for end of life and day services for older people. We aim to provide the highest quality of health and social care services to residents who live across South Tyneside. We are conveniently located on Harton Lane, South Shields.

You will have practical experience of implementing person-centred care and have effective communication and problem solving skills. Youwill be able to work calmly under pressure and have a strong commitment to respecting the rights of the services users at all times. Experience in asenior carer post is desirable however the successive candidates will receiveappropriate training.

Youwill be flexible to meet the needs of the service and be able to meet the requirements of the shift pattern which includes a combination of long days,earlies, lates and rotation onto night shift. The roster covers 7 days of theweek, 24 hours per day. Full time, part time and flexible working is available.

Any training and developmental learning needs will be encouraged and supported.

As a Senior Care Advocate, the post holder will provide supervision to the care advocates within the service, promoting a supportive environment for service users through high standards of care that will be conducive to the needs of the individuals, their carers and families.

The post holder will ensure that each service user receives care appropriate to their individual needs and implement and exceed the requirements of the standards agreed,legislative requirements, and relevant regulations and in line with accepted best practices and company Policies.

• NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
