Technical Manager
Location:
South Shields area
Salary: £50 000 - £55 000

The business is going through a rapid period of growth, with some very exciting projects just starting!
About the RoleAs Technical Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the highest standards of quality, compliance, and innovation within the food industry. This position offers the opportunity to work with a dedicated team in an ever-evolving and sustainable business environment. The role will be very much factory focused.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards, certifications, and retailer requirements.
- Oversee product quality - driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring their technical and quality expectations are exceeded.
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring full compliance with food safety, environmental, traceability, and health & safety standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product quality and address technical challenges.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices, bringing innovative ideas to the business.
- Proven experience in a technical or quality management role within the food industry
- Proven management skills - this role will lead a team of 7 QAs and a QA Administrator
- Strong knowledge of compliance standards and retailer requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- A good level certification in food safety
