We are seeking a dedicated Attendance Assistant to play a vital role in supporting student engagement, belonging and success across KS3, KS4 and KS5. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive professional who understands the importance of attendance in helping young people thrive. Working closely with students, families and colleagues, you will help ensure every learner is given the best possible chance to attend, participate and achieve.
This role sits at the heart of the school’s attendance provision, helping to monitor patterns, support early intervention and contribute to a culture where excellent attendance is expected and achieved. You will be a key point of contact for attendance‑related matters, providing professional, accurate and timely support that makes a real difference to students and families.
Key Responsibilities- Support the administration of attendance processes, ensuring records are accurate, timely and well maintained.
- Contribute to positive attendance measures by helping identify concerns early and supporting effective follow‑up action.
- Provide administrative support to the wider attendance and pastoral teams, helping maintain efficient day‑to‑day operations.
- Assist with attendance monitoring, reporting and communication to support improved student engagement.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external partners to promote regular school attendance.
- Experience of working in an administrative or school environment.
- Experience of communicating professionally with parents/carers and young people.
- Experience of using databases or management information systems, ideally Arbor.
- Understanding of the barriers that can affect attendance and how to help overcome them.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
