Our client is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to oversee and implement company-wide EHS programs. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, driving continuous improvement in safety practices, leading investigations, conducting training, and fostering a culture of safety at all organizational levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance Management:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
- Conduct audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
- Maintain comprehensive EHS documentation in alignment with regulatory requirements.
Incident Investigation and Prevention:
- Investigate all workplace incidents, near-misses, and property damage to determine root causes.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement corrective actions and prevent reoccurrences.
Workplace Inspections and Monitoring:
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
- Monitor and maintain safety equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Lead initiatives to manage waste, monitor environmental quality, and promote responsible chemical handling.
- Implement pollution prevention strategies and environmental impact mitigation.
Employee Engagement and Communication:
- Promote a positive safety culture through employee involvement and open communication.
- Clearly communicate safety policies and procedures across the organization.
Training and
Education:
- Collaborate with the Training Department to develop safety training programs.
- Deliver specialized training sessions (e.g., Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry, Powered Industrial Vehicles).
Contractor Management:
- Oversee safety compliance of on-site contractors.
- Conduct regular audits and performance assessments of contractor activities.
General:
- Perform all duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Complete other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in risk assessment and hazard identification.
- CSP or equivalent EHS certifications preferred.
- Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Competency in Microsoft Office and other relevant tools.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations and industrial environmental programs (SWPPP, SPCC, hazardous waste, NPDES).
- Proven leadership in fostering a safety-first culture.
- Analytical mindset with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to regular and punctual attendance.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk, stand, twist, bend, climb, and lift.
- Capable of lifting/pushing/pulling up to 60 lbs.
Experience &
Education:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a safety leadership role within manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Science, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field preferred.
