Advanced Clinical Practitioner – ADHD/ASC Pathway

Join the South Staffs Adult ADHD & Autism Team as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner across South Staffordshire. We are expanding and seeking a highly skilled advanced clinician to provide leadership in delivering high‑quality, person‑centred assessments and support for adults across the region.

You will be passionate about transforming neurodevelopmental care for adults and play a key role in shaping a forward‑thinking, values‑driven service.

Key responsibilities include working with patients presenting undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems, assessing their healthcare needs and applying advanced health knowledge and skills, including physical examination.

This role is Monday to Friday, typically 9 am‑5 pm, and will require travel across a large geographical area; access to suitable transport is essential.

  • Lead on the completion of comprehensive ADHD and autism assessments for adults.

  • Work collaboratively with a skilled, supportive MDT committed to innovation and compassionate care.
  • Help shape the future of neurodevelopmental services in South Staffordshire.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Advanced Clinical Practice MSc.
  • Specialist ADHD diagnostic and treatment training.
Experience
  • Evidence of working effectively at a senior level in a community multi‑disciplinary health and social care setting (mental health).
  • Experience of working with a range of statutory and non‑statutory agencies.
  • Evidence of promoting research, evidence‑based practice, clinical excellence and quality approaches to support outcome‑focused care.
  • Experience of working with adults with ADHD and/or Autism.
Skills
  • Knowledge of various approaches to mental health assessment; awareness of basic research methodology.
  • Skills in assessing, planning and evaluating mental health care/treatment interventions.
  • Skills in coordinating complex care and in delivering teaching programmes and working independently.
  • Ability to coordinate, develop and deliver a program of health promotion interventions to patients.
  • Ability to deal with challenging situations.
