South Tyneside Educational Psychology Service is a friendly, highly supportive and nurturing team of educational psychologists, specialist teachers and emotional resilience officers. The Service is very well regarded by its users, as is evident from the consistently excellent feedback it receives. It maintains highly positive working relationships with schools, other professionals and the Local Authority.

We are looking to appoint Assistant Educational Psychologists to join the team. These posts are suitable for keen, enthusiastic and conscientious individuals who are looking to develop a career as an educational psychologist. The posts would be suitable for those who are already working within an education setting or have some experience of working with children and young people.

The posts have been created as part of the SEND reforms. The successful candidates will deliver a range of work as part of Experts at Hand as well as working within our team of educational psychologists. This will provide the opportunity to engage in a broad variety of activities, including training, therapeutic work, systemic work and research, using a range of different psychological tools and methods.

As well as working with our team of educational psychologists you will also have the opportunity to work into the emotional resilience team and with our specialist teachers where you will be able to become involved in a range of different work to help to support children and young people.

You must have a good honours degree in Psychology and a keen interest in undertaking formal training to become an educational psychologist. This post is fixed term for 2 years.
