Milk Education is recruiting dedicated and resilient Behaviour Intervention Mentors to support pupils across Primary Schools in Sunderland and South Tyneside.

As a Behaviour Intervention Mentor, you will work closely with children who require additional support with behaviour, emotional regulation, engagement, and social development. Through building positive relationships and implementing effective intervention strategies, you will help pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve success both inside and outside the classroom.

This rewarding role is ideal for individuals with experience in education, youth work, mentoring, sports coaching, residential care, support work, psychology, or behaviour-focused roles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing targeted 1:1 and small group behaviour interventions
  • Supporting pupils to develop emotional regulation and positive coping strategies
  • Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging engagement in learning
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support personal growth
  • Supporting children with SEMH, SEND, and behavioural needs
  • Working alongside teachers, SENDCOs, and pastoral teams to implement behaviour support plans
  • Monitoring progress and celebrating pupil achievements
We Are Looking For:
  • Experience working with children or young people with behavioural, SEMH, or additional support needs
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and de-escalation skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships and act as a role model
  • A genuine passion for helping children overcome challenges and achieve their potential
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
