Job Overview

Join Bodycote as a Quality Inspector based in South Windsor, CT. The role focuses on ensuring parts meet customer specifications while supporting the Quality Manager with limited supervision.

• 1,500 Sign‑on Retention Bonus
• Full‑time 40‑hour work week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Based in South Windsor, CT, the Quality Inspector will be responsible for inspecting parts to meet customer specifications and assisting the Quality Manager in related tasks with limited supervision.

• Accurately perform hardness and other tests and record results as required.
• Calibrate all testing equipment accurately and on schedule.
• Perform audits, weekly probes, surveys, etc., as needed or defined by procedure and/or schedule.
• May be required to complete conformance certificates and/or other related paperwork.
• Meet all specification requirements per BQS.
• Report any deviation, problem, or irregularity to the supervisor or management immediately.
• Practice and promote safety and good housekeeping.
• Perform other tasks as designated by the position.
• Assure safe care of customers’ inventory to prevent loss or damage.
• Demonstrate punctuality, clear communication, collaboration, and acceptance of constructive criticism.

• Citizenship or permanent resident status required for ITAR compliance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year in the heat‑treating industry or related field preferred.
• Ability to develop working knowledge of all testing equipment and terminology.
• Experience reading/interpreting blueprints/specifications preferred.
• Detail‑oriented with manual dexterity.
• Willingness to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and databases.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.

• Extended periods of sitting and standing in an industrial environment.
• Manual dexterity for data entry.
• Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach for functions.
• Capacity to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Exposure to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity possible.
• Must possess cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential duties.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Visual acuity for reading documents and computer screens.
• Auditory capability for in‑person and telephone communication.
