HVAC Chiller Service Technician (CT)

Base pay range $30.00/hr – $50.00/hr

Large Mechanical Services company seeking a Chiller Technician in Connecticut. Amazing pay, benefits and opportunities to work on large‑scale HVAC & refrigeration projects.

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on chiller and boiler unit’s electrical and mechanical components.
• Support equipment such as chillers, compressors, purge units, cooling towers, pumps/motors, valves, boilers, and unitary equipment.
• Maintain thorough record‑keeping, including refrigeration and operation logs.
• Carry out major repairs on chillers and boilers, including recovering refrigerant, replacing O‑rings, gaskets, seals and bearings, sleeve Babbitt, thrust/counterthrust and roller bearings.
• Perform boiler inspections and preventive maintenance teardown per current CT code guidelines.
• Work on cooling tower gearboxes, drive couplings, intermediate shafts, fan blade pitches and centrifugal pumps.
• Work on brands such as Trane, Carrier, York, Daikin, Smardt and McQuay (centrifugal, reciprocating and screw chillers).

• Utilize CFC & HCFC refrigerant recovery equipment, maintain records and perform all service and maintenance repairs in accordance with EPA regulations.

• High school diploma or equivalent; any D1, S1 or S2 licensure is ideal.
• Post‑secondary vocational or technical school diploma in HVAC or Refrigeration from an accredited institution (or a recognized apprenticeship program).
• 3‑5 years minimum experience working on commercial units.
• Must have a clean driving record.
• Boiler and steam experience is a plus.
• EPA Certified.
