Mid-Level Accountant

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements
• Process and review bookkeeping records for clients
• Perform reconciliations including bank, debtors, creditors, and VAT
• Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, and other statutory returns
• Assist with management accounts and financial reporting
• Liaise with clients regarding accounting and tax queries
• Ensure compliance with SARS and CIPC requirements
• Assist with audit preparation and supporting documentation
• Maintain accurate and organised client records
• Support senior accountants and managers with ad hoc tasks

• Minimum 2+ years’ experience within an accounting firm
• Strong bookkeeping and accounting knowledge
• Experience working with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, Quick Books, Pastel, or similar
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities

• Completed accounting degree or relevant tertiary qualification
• Completed or partially completed SAIPA or SAICA articles
  
  Experience with drafting financial statements and tax submissions
• Exposure to multiple client portfolios within a practice environment
