Bookkeeper

Overview

Red Ember Recruitment is seeking to hire an experienced Bookkeeper to join our client’s team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting stock management processes, and assisting the Financial Manager with day-to-day financial and administrative functions.

• Maintain accurate financial records up to trial balance.
• Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Perform bank reconciliations and manage cash.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Stock management: monitor and maintain stock records, perform regular stock reconciliations and variance analysis, coordinate stock takes and investigate discrepancies.
• Provide day-to-day support to the Financial Manager and prepare schedules and reports for audits or reviews.

• Must reside in the Helderberg area (Somerset West, Strand, or Gordon’s Bay).
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in bookkeeping or a similar finance role.
• Minimum qualification:
  
  Financial certificate or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial processes.
• Experience with Pastel Partner and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
