Junior Accountant

Somerset West – My client, a local Accounting Firm, is seeking a Junior Accountant to manage a portfolio of clients, with responsibilities including accounting processing, financial reporting, tax compliance, and the preparation of annual financial statements.

• Financial Statements
• Accounting processing and financial reporting
• VAT Management
• Income Tax submissions and Tax Administration
• Training and mentorship

• Cognitive ability to learn and understand quickly
• Interpersonal skills: such as telephone skills, communication skills, active listening, and customer care
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly
  
  Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Ability to forge strong, long-lasting relationships with team members and clients
• Proficient with general office applications
• Skill in preparing written communications and materials
• Problem solving skills essential
• Attention to Detail
• Able to work independently and with high accuracy levels

• High activity levels with peak and low periods
• Manage multiple tasks simulations, prioritise workloads and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
• Minimal supervision and self-reliance are important (self-motivated)

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Computer literate (Microsoft – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience in Caseware Essential
• Digital accounting systems experience (Xero)
• Experienced with digital communication systems, i.e. Teams, Zoom
• Good communication and time management skills
