Junior Cost Accountant

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain product and standard costing.
• Prepare cost reports and analyse material and overhead cost variances.
• Identify and report abnormalities in overhead cost calculations.
• Assist with forecasting, budgeting and month-end reporting, including over- and under-recoveries.
• Assist with stock counts and the analysis of stock count variances.
• Support bi-annual asset verification processes.
• Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations.
• Assist with stock code creation and master data maintenance.
• Support internal and external audits and ensure adherence to internal controls, policies and accounting standards.
• Assist senior management with financial queries and ad hoc requests.

• Bachelor's degree or Advanced Diploma in Cost and Management Accounting.
• Understanding of standard, weighted average and activity-based costing methods.
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and Pivot Tables.
• Understanding of ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
