Accountant ​/ Accounts Manager

Location: Strand

Strand - An established company is seeking an experienced Accountant / Accounts Manager to take responsibility for its accounting function and oversee a small finance team.

The successful candidate should be a fully qualified SAIPA Accountant or have completed SAIPA articles or similar background, with strong technical accounting knowledge and proven experience in preparing monthly management accounts and financial reporting.

Key requirements:

• SAIPA qualified or completed articles
• Strong knowledge of IFRS for SMEs
• Strong VAT and company tax knowledge
• Experience preparing and analysing monthly management accounts
• Experience with budgets, forecasts and projections
• Ability to complete reconciliations on all trial balance accounts
• Experience supervising accounting team members and ensuring reporting deadlines are met
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, Quick Books, Sage or similar
• Strong Microsoft 365 and Excel skills
• Experience working across multiple group entities and preparing group management reports
• Knowledge of inventory and stock controls, including forex adjustments
• Knowledge of imports, exports, customs and the related accounting and VAT treatment
• Strong attention to detail, numeracy and professional judgement
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain financial information clearly to directors

This position will suit a hands-on, organised Accountant who can work independently, manage multiple priorities and take ownership of the accounting function.
