Accounts Payable Clerk

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to manage their accounts payable functions from their office in Soweto . This role is essential for ensuring that all supplier invoices are processed accurately and paid on time, maintaining strong vendor relationships. You will be responsible for matching invoices, preparing payments, and reconciling vendor statements. • Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving reports.
• Prepare and process weekly or bi-weekly payment runs (EFTs, checks).
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payments and outstanding invoices.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures related to accounts payable.

• National Certificate or Diploma in Accounting or Bookkeeping.
• 1-3 years of experience in an accounts payable role.
• Familiarity with accounting principles and payable procedures.
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Pastel, Quick Books) and MS Excel.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines consistently.
