Aspen Logistics is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our Finance team in Germiston

This role plays a vital part in supporting accurate financial processing, month-end activities, reconciliations, statutory compliance, and financial reporting across multiple business entities, helping ensure informed business decisions and strong financial governance.
About the RoleReporting to the Head of Finance
, you will support the finance function by maintaining accurate financial records, processing month-end journals, performing reconciliations, managing cashbooks, assisting with VAT submissions, and supporting financial reporting across Aspen Logistics and its associated entities. You'll be part of a collaborative finance team focused on accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Process daily cashbooks and maintain accurate cashflow schedules.
- Prepare month-end journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and general ledger transactions.
- Perform balance sheet, bank, creditor, debtor, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Prepare VAT reconciliations and assist with SARS and BURS submissions.
- Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and process monthly depreciation.
- Assist with month-end reporting, management accounts, and financial close activities.
- Support financial recoveries, billing schedules, and operational finance processes across multiple entities.
- Ensure financial records are accurate, compliant, and completed within internal reporting deadlines.
- Matric.
- Diploma or BCom in Accounting or Finance (required).
- 1–2 years' accounting experience.
- Experience with in the transport or logistics industry will be advantageous.
- Experience working with Botswana entities and BURS requirements will be advantageous.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with Eclipse ERP will be beneficial.
- Ability to work confidently within a multi-entity finance environment.
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to balance detailed financial work with an understanding of the broader business.
- Strong communication skills across multiple departments and entities.
- High levels of integrity, accountability, and confidentiality.
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and grow.
- Ability to work under pressure while consistently meeting deadlines.
- Based in Germiston
. - Primarily office-based with occasional travel for stakeholder or audit meetings.
- Standard business hours, with additional hours required during month-end, audit, and reporting cycles.
