Finance Controller

JK Abattoir is a leading integrated poultry processing business committed to operational excellence, food safety, sustainability, and customer satisfaction. We are looking for a detail-oriented and commercially minded Finance Controller to join our growing finance team.

Responsible for managing daily financial accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring effective financial controls, supporting operational reporting, and assisting management in achieving the company’s financial objectives.

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain the general ledger.
• Oversee accounts payable, receivable and cash management.
• Prepare VAT, PAYE and statutory returns.
• Assist with annual financial statements and audits.
• Manage inventory accounting, production costing and stock reconciliations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Monitor internal controls, financial policies and fixed assets.
• Support the CFO with financial analysis, board reports and strategic projects.
• Liaise with SARS, auditors and other stakeholders.

• CA(SA), AGA(SA), or BCom Accounting with completed SAIPA/SAICA articles.
• 3-5 years’ post-articles accounting experience.
• Manufacturing, FMCG, agriculture or food processing experience is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and South African tax legislation.
  Advanced Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems experience (Sage X3 & Meat Matrix advantageous).
