Financial Assistant

Are you living in the Somerset West area and have minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience managing accounting records from source to Trial Balance?

This is a hybrid position, 2 days in office. Experience in XERO and Google Workspace required.

Requirements:

• Qualification:
  
  BCom (Accounting or similar)
• Minimum 2–3 years experience as a Financial Controller or Financial Assistant
• Experience in ownership of accounting records from source to TB
• Experience in Xero
• Experience in Google Workspace
• Experience in GL reconciliations between local and foreign entries advantageous

Duties and Responsibilities::

• Prepare month-end journals, accruals, prepayments and provisions for each group entity
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations (bank, debtors, creditors, VAT, payroll control, intercompany)
• Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
• Maintain and update credit card transactions
• Full control of financial function from source transactions to TB
• Record client invoices, including purchase-order and portal-based billing for clients
• Record supplier invoices, payment runs and creditor reconciliations
• Monitor debtors’ ageing and follow up on overdue accounts
• Prepare VAT
  201 returns and support EMP
  201/EMP
  501 payroll submissions
• Assist with provisional and annual income tax computations
• Support cross-border FX transactions
• Assist with month-end reporting packs
• Support ad hoc requests such as due diligence and Tender reporting
