Function Patient services Facility Position Admission Clerk | 2 months Introduction

A vacancy exists for an Admission Clerk in our Patient Services , based at Life The Glynnwood Hospital reporting to Sandy Cross, Admission Supervisor . The successful candidate will be responsible for providing full administration support to the Admissions Reception.

• Responsible for accurately recording all admissions of patients to the hospital.
• The successful candidate is accountable for :
• Carrying out accurate admission and receptionist duties for the hospital.
• Performing general administration duties involved in the admission of patients,
• Including filing and assistance with billing of accounts.
• Admitting patients onto IMEDS.
• Operating the switchboard.
• Handling money.
• Liaising with medical aids to obtain authorization for admission

• Grade 12 National Senior Certificate
• Strong computer skills
• Previous Experience working with IT – IMEDS will be to your advantage.
• Excellent communication and Interpersonal skills a prerequisite.
• Experience in dealing with customers.
• Knowledge of hospital procedures and medical terminology will be advantageous.
• Teamwork essential.
• Must be able to flex between day and night shift.
