Location: Knysna
Our client, a well-established and reputable company based in Knysna, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Administrative / Bookkeeping Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for an organised individual with a passion for administration, bookkeeping, and office support, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in maintaining accurate financial and administrative records.
Description:
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the management team.
- Capture and process accounting transactions using Sage Accounting.
- Assist with general bookkeeping functions, including processing invoices, receipts, payments and journals.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Manage supplier procurement processes, including obtaining quotations and placing purchase orders.
- Follow up with suppliers regarding outstanding orders, deliveries and account queries.
- Assist with supplier account reconciliations and maintain procurement records.
- Perform bank, supplier and general ledger reconciliations where required.
- Maintain organised electronic and manual filing systems.
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets and administrative documentation.
- Assist with inventory and stock administration when required.
- Manage incoming correspondence, emails and telephone enquiries.
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Previous experience in an administrative, bookkeeping or accounts support role.
- Working knowledge of Sage Accounting or similar accounting software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Good understanding of basic bookkeeping principles.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively.
- Reliable, professional and deadline driven.
