Purpose Of The Job:
Our client is an exciting new automotive brand establishing its head office operations and building the business from the ground up. This role is suited to an enthusiastic, committed professional who is eager to be part of a long-term journey, contribute to shaping processes and culture, and play a key role in developing and growing the department from its early stages.
The National Sales Manager is responsible for developing and executing the company’s national sales strategy, driving dealer performance, and ensuring alignment with overall OEM objectives. This role requires a highly strategic, commercially minded leader who can manage regional sales teams, optimise dealer profitability, and grow market share while ensuring exceptional customer experience.
The ideal candidate is a proven automotive professional with strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of dealer networks, and the ability to translate strategic objectives into operational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sales Leadership
- Develop and implement national sales strategies aligned with OEM business goals
- Set clear objectives, targets, and KPIs for regional sales managers and dealer networks
- Drive sales growth, market penetration, and brand presence across all regions
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform sales strategy
- Lead, mentor, and support regional sales managers in achieving targets
- Monitor and evaluate dealer performance, profitability, and compliance with OEM standards
- Conduct regular dealer business reviews, training, and development sessions
- Implement dealer incentive programs, pricing strategies, and sales campaigns
- Prepare national sales forecasts, budgets, and projections
- Manage pricing strategies, promotional campaigns, and incentive structures
- Align sales plans with Marketing, Aftersales, and Supply Chain departments
- Track and report on sales performance, analysing variances and implementing corrective actions
- Drive dealer profitability through effective management of sales volume, pricing, and cost control
- Ensure consistent achievement of sales targets and KPI metrics
- Promote strong customer satisfaction and service quality through dealer network initiatives
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimise sales processes and outcomes
- Collaborate with Marketing to support campaigns, launches, and brand initiatives
- Work closely with Aftersales to align sales activities with service and warranty programs
- Partner with Supply Chain to ensure availability and allocation of vehicles to meet demand
- Report regularly to OEM management on national sales performance, trends, and risks
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA advantageous)
- Minimum 10 years of experience in automotive sales, with at least 5 years in an OEM or head-office automotive environment
- Proven track record in managing national sales teams and dealer networks
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities
- Motor Industry experience ESSENTIAL!!

- Dealer CSI / customer satisfaction scores
- Compliance with OEM standards and operational policies
