Overview
Workshop Foreman – Vereeniging, Gauteng (Candidate to reside in Vaal Triangle). Reference: MID

Midvaal Recruitment is currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and hands-on Workshop Foreman to join their Technical Department in Vereeniging. This role is responsible for coordinating workshop operations, ensuring fleet availability, supervising technical staff, and maintaining the roadworthiness of heavy-duty vehicles.
Responsibilities- Coordinate and implement vehicle fleet maintenance activities.
- Supervise and control daily workshop and fleet maintenance operations.
- Ensure optimal vehicle availability and operational readiness.
- Monitor and maintain the roadworthiness and safety compliance of all vehicles.
- Manage workshop personnel and ensure effective utilization of resources.
- Conduct fault finding, diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles.
- Compile and submit maintenance and operational reports to management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control within the workshop.
- Qualified Artisan Mechanic.
- Valid Code EC, EC1, C, or equivalent driver's license with a valid PrDP.
- Proven experience in maintenance and repair of heavy-duty vehicles.
- Experience servicing and repairing automotive components.
- Previous supervisory or workshop leadership experience.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Auto-electrical experience will be advantageous.
- Basic computer literacy will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of the passenger transport or bus industry.
- Understanding of workshop operations and maintenance procedures.
- Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Knowledge of disciplinary procedures and workforce management.
