About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior HSE Officer to join their operations in Klerksdorp . This role is critical in ensuring the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental performance across their mining and oilfield services activities. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring HSE policies and procedures to minimize risks and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in fostering a strong safety culture throughout the organization, working closely with site management and operational teams to promote best practices in the North West province . This position requires a proactive approach to risk management and a commitment to protecting our workforce and the environment.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive HSE management systems and programs.
- Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver HSE training programs to employees at all levels.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international HSE legislation and standards.
- Promote a positive safety culture through engagement, communication, and leadership presence on site in Klerksdorp .
- Relevant qualification in Health, Safety, and Environmental Management (e.g., NEBOSH, OHS).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably within the mining or oil and gas sectors.
- Strong knowledge of South African HSE legislation and industry best practices.
- Excellent investigation, auditing, and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies and safety management tools.
- Strong communication, leadership, and influencing skills.
