About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Sustainability and ESG Specialist to join their hybrid team in Benoni . This role is pivotal in driving our company's commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles across all operations. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and reporting on sustainability initiatives, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Your expertise will help us enhance our corporate social responsibility, reduce our environmental impact, and maintain strong stakeholder relations.
This is a crucial position for advancing our commitment to sustainable energy practices.
- Develop and execute the company's sustainability strategy and ESG roadmap.
- Collect, analyze, and report on key ESG data, including carbon emissions, waste management, and social impact metrics.
- Prepare annual sustainability reports in line with recognized frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB).
- Engage with internal departments and external stakeholders to promote sustainability best practices.
- Identify opportunities for improving environmental performance and reducing operational footprint.
- Stay current with emerging trends, regulations, and stakeholder expectations in sustainability and ESG.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, or a related field;
Master's degree preferred. - 3-5 years of experience in corporate sustainability , ESG reporting, or environmental management.
- Solid understanding of ESG frameworks, reporting standards, and relevant legislation.
- Excellent analytical, data management, and reporting skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
