Our client, based in Knysna, is seeking an experienced and highly competent Construction Manager to take full responsibility for the planning, coordination, and execution of residential and commercial construction projects.
The successful candidate will oversee all site operations from project inception through to final handover, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Description:
- Manage all day-to-day site operations from establishment to project handover
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams
- Plan daily activities and monitor progress against project programmes
- Ensure all work complies with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards
- Conduct site quality inspections and identify defects
- Ensure defects are rectified timeously
- Monitor labour productivity and manage workforce performance
- Control material usage, plant, and equipment on site
- Identify construction risks and implement corrective actions
- Manage project timelines and reduce delays and cost overruns
- Minimum 5–10 years’ proven experience as a Site Manager / Construction Manager in residential and commercial construction
- National Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Building Science, Civil Engineering, or related field (advantageous)
- Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport
Proven ability to accurately interpret and implement architectural, structural, civil, electrical, and plumbing drawings, ensuring compliance with project specifications and construction standards.
- Proven experience managing multiple subcontractors and large-scale projects.
