About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly skilled and analytical Senior Construction Planner to join their dynamic team, supporting projects across Benoni and the wider Gauteng region. This role is critical for developing and managing comprehensive construction schedules, resource allocation, and project sequencing to ensure efficient and timely project delivery. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to create realistic and achievable plans, identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, maintain, and update detailed master schedules for complex construction projects using P6 or similar software.
- Analyze project requirements and constraints to create logical sequencing of construction activities.
- Collaborate with project teams to gather input and ensure the accuracy and feasibility of the construction plan.
- Identify potential scheduling conflicts, resource constraints, and risks, and develop proactive solutions.
- Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule, analyze variances, and report on schedule performance.
- Develop 'what-if' scenarios and provide schedule impact assessments for proposed changes.
- Ensure effective communication of the project schedule to all stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction planning and scheduling.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 or Asta Power project is essential.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and site logistics.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
