Construction Manager - Commercial and Retail

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Construction Manager to oversee a portfolio of commercial and retail construction projects in the Nelspruit area. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker with a proven ability to manage complex projects from concept through to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for all aspects of project execution, including team leadership, stakeholder management, risk mitigation, and financial oversight.

• Lead and manage all phases of construction projects, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and closeout.
• Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, budgets, and schedules, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
• Oversee site operations, contractor performance, and quality control to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
• Manage project risks, identify potential issues, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations on all construction sites .
• Manage project finances, including cost control, cash flow, and final account reconciliation.

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in construction management, with a significant focus on commercial and retail projects.
• Demonstrated success in managing multiple large-scale projects concurrently.
• Expertise in contract negotiation, administration, and dispute resolution.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Professional accreditation (e.g., Pr CM) is highly advantageous.
