About the Role
Our client, a major infrastructure development firm operating in Vereeniging , seeks a highly experienced and strategic Construction Manager . This senior role demands strong leadership capabilities to oversee large-scale infrastructure projects, ensuring their successful planning, execution, and delivery. You will manage budgets, timelines, resources, and stakeholder relations, driving projects that are vital to the region's growth. This is a commanding opportunity to shape critical infrastructure in Gauteng .
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive construction plans, budgets, and schedules for major infrastructure projects.
- Lead, manage, and mentor multidisciplinary project teams, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.
- Oversee all site operations, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality control protocols.
- Manage contract administration, including negotiations, procurement, and performance management of subcontractors and suppliers.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.
- Liaise with government authorities, clients, and community stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and maintain positive relationships.
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in construction management, with a significant focus on large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in managing multimillion-rand projects from inception to handover.
- In-depth knowledge of South African construction laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
