Civil Site Engineer - Construction Management

Our client, a dynamic construction company, is seeking a diligent and proactive Civil Site Engineer for a challenging project in Klerksdorp, North West . This is a hands-on role crucial for overseeing the day-to-day operations on a major construction site. You will be responsible for ensuring that all civil engineering works are executed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency, strictly adhering to project plans and specifications.

This position requires excellent coordination skills, the ability to resolve on-site issues promptly, and a deep understanding of construction methodologies. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and committed to delivering project milestones. This role is integral to the successful completion of significant infrastructure development in the Klerksdorp area.

• Supervise and manage all civil engineering activities on site, including earthworks, concrete pours, structural steel erection, and road construction.
• Ensure construction activities are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Implement and enforce site safety procedures, conducting regular safety inspections and toolbox talks.
• Monitor progress of works against the project schedule, identifying potential delays and proposing mitigation measures.
• Conduct quality control checks, material testing, and ensure compliance with technical requirements.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for site management and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and the project management team to ensure smooth workflow.
• Manage site resources, including plant, equipment, and labor, ensuring efficient utilization.
• Resolve technical queries and site issues in a timely and effective manner.
• Maintain accurate site records and documentation.

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Site Engineer or in a similar construction supervision role.
• Proven experience on building, infrastructure, or industrial construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and equipment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of construction site safety regulations and best practices.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage teams effectively.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Klerksdorp, North West .
• Valid driver's license and own reliable transport.
