Civil Site Engineer - Roads and Infrastructure

Our client, a major player in civil infrastructure development, is actively seeking a proactive Civil Site Engineer for a critical role on a large-scale roads and infrastructure project in Nelspruit. This is a site-based position requiring active management and supervision of construction activities to ensure quality, safety, and timely completion. You will be responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day site operations, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring that all work is executed according to design specifications and project plans.

• Supervise and manage all on‑site civil engineering construction activities, including earthworks, road construction, drainage, and utility installations.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental protocols on site.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Coordinate with project managers, surveyors, contractors, and other site personnel.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement timely solutions.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Manage site resources, including equipment and labor, effectively.
• Maintain accurate site records and documentation.

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil construction supervision, particularly on roads and infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and quality control procedures.
• Excellent knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in construction.
• Effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Proficiency in relevant site management software is an advantage.
• Valid driver's license is required.
