Project Manager - Civil Engineering Construction

Our client, a prominent civil engineering contractor, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead significant infrastructure projects in and around Vereeniging, Gauteng . This role is critical for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of complex civil engineering works, including roads, bridges, and water infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical expertise, commercial acumen, and leadership skills.

You will be responsible for managing project teams, budgets, schedules, and ensuring adherence to stringent quality and safety standards. • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of civil engineering construction projects from inception to completion.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
• Manage project execution, monitor progress, and implement corrective actions to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations on site.
• Manage client relationships, stakeholders, and subcontractors effectively.
• Lead, mentor, and motivate project teams to achieve project objectives.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks.
• Manage project finances, including cost control, forecasting, and variations.
• Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and relevant legislation.
• Prepare and present detailed project progress reports to senior management and clients.

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in project management within the civil engineering construction sector.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, water reticulation, etc.).
• Strong understanding of contract management, FIDIC or NEC experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage complex budgets and project finances.
• Registered with ECSA as a Pr. Eng or
  
  E.Tech is advantageous.
