Project Construction Manager

A leading mining and metals producer based in Mooinooi, North West, is seeking an experienced Project Construction Manager to join its project team, reporting to the Project Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing dedicated site supervision and overseeing contractors during the execution of mining and plant-related construction projects. The role requires strong mining industry experience, with a focus on contractor management, construction progress, quality control and compliance with approved project specifications, safety standards and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, Engineering, Plant Operations and Safety teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and within approved time frames.

• National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Construction Management; alternatively, a relevant Trade Test (Red Seal) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Relevant project construction or construction management experience within the mining industry.
• Minimum of 7 years' experience in mining, plant construction or engineering project environments.
• Demonstrable experience in construction site supervision and contractor management within mining or industrial projects.
• Sound knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSACT).
• Experience monitoring construction progress, project schedules and key milestones.
• Knowledge of contractor method statements, risk assessments, quality control and site safety requirements.
• Experience conducting site inspections and maintaining construction documentation, daily diaries and progress reports.
• Strong leadership, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to identify construction and safety risks and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
• Project Management or Construction Management certification would be advantageous.
• Rigging knowledge and experience would be advantageous.
