About the Role
Our client, a dynamic force in the Arts & Entertainment landscape in Klerksdorp , is seeking a highly skilled Senior VFX Artist . This position is instrumental in creating stunning visual effects that elevate our productions across various platforms. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing a wide range of visual effects, working collaboratively with the art and engineering teams.
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute cutting-edge visual artistry to ambitious projects, pushing the boundaries of visual fidelity and immersion in the North West region.
- Create high-quality visual effects, including particle systems, destruction, magic, and environmental effects.
- Integrate VFX assets into the game/film engine, ensuring optimal performance and visual appeal.
- Collaborate with art directors and technical artists to define and implement VFX style guides.
- Optimize VFX performance for various target platforms, balancing visual quality with technical constraints.
- Develop and maintain tools and workflows to streamline the VFX creation process.
- Mentor junior VFX artists and provide technical guidance and artistic feedback.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in VFX art for games or film.
- Proficiency in industry-standard VFX software such as Houdini, Maya, After Effects, and Unreal Engine/Unity.
- Strong understanding of particle simulation, physics, shaders, and rendering techniques.
- Excellent artistic eye for detail, timing, and composition in visual effects.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Portfolio demonstrating exceptional and diverse visual effects work.
