Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Dental Therapist role based at our Wonderpark Shopping Centre, Akasia, Pretoria practice. The Dental Therapist will provide preventive, diagnostic, and basic restorative dental care, including patient examinations, scaling and polishing, fluoride applications, fissure sealants, simple restorations, and other treatments within the scope of practice.

The successful candidate will promote oral health through patient education, preventative care initiatives, and community awareness. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate clinical records, taking and interpreting radiographs where appropriate, managing patient appointments, and working closely with the dental team to ensure exceptional patient outcomes. The role also requires strict adherence to HPCSA regulations, infection prevention and control protocols, and ethical clinical standards.

Qualifications
  • Recognised qualification as a Dental Therapist with current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience in preventive, diagnostic, and basic restorative dentistry.
  • Excellent patient care, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound understanding of oral health promotion and patient education.
  • Knowledge of infection prevention, sterilisation procedures, and clinical safety standards.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary dental team.
  • Strong organisational, record‑keeping, and time‑management skills.
  • A commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centred care and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.
  • Previous clinical experience in private practice will be advantageous.
