About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Urban Design Architect to contribute to shaping the future of urban environments in Nelspruit and the surrounding Mpumalanga region. This role involves developing master plans, urban design frameworks, and strategic spatial plans that foster sustainable, livable, and vibrant communities. You will collaborate with city planners, developers, and community stakeholders to create cohesive and well-integrated urban spaces.
This is a unique opportunity to influence the growth and development of urban areas through visionary design and strategic planning.
- Develop comprehensive urban design strategies and master plans for various development scales.
- Create detailed design guidelines, policies, and frameworks for urban regeneration and new developments.
- Analyze site conditions, demographic trends, and environmental factors to inform design proposals.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including urban planners, landscape architects, and civil engineers.
- Present design proposals and strategic recommendations to municipal authorities, developers, and the public.
- Ensure designs promote social equity, economic vitality, and environmental sustainability in urban contexts.
- Professional degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, or a related field, with a specialization in Urban Design.
- Significant experience in urban design , master planning, and large-scale development projects.
- Proficiency in relevant design and visualization software (e.g., AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Adobe Creative Suite, GIS).
- Strong understanding of urban planning principles, zoning regulations, and public policy.
- Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and contribute to complex urban development projects in Nelspruit .
