About the Role
Our client seeks a specialized Healthcare Architect to contribute to cutting-edge medical facility designs in Welkom. This role requires a deep understanding of healthcare planning, functional requirements, and the specific building codes and standards applicable to hospitals, clinics, and medical centers. You will collaborate with healthcare professionals, engineers, and consultants to create state-of-the-art, patient-centered environments. This is a unique chance to apply architectural expertise to sectors that profoundly impact community well‑being in the Free State.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the architectural design and planning of new healthcare facilities and renovations.
- Develop detailed functional programming and space planning for medical buildings.
- Ensure designs comply with all healthcare-specific regulations, standards (e.g., SANS 10400-XA, NHBRC), and best practices for infection control.
- Collaborate with medical staff and administrators to understand their operational needs and translate them into efficient facility layouts.
- Coordinate with MEP engineers, structural engineers, and medical equipment planners.
- Prepare detailed architectural drawings, specifications, and presentation materials for healthcare projects in Welkom.
- Registered Professional Architect with SACAP.
- Minimum 6 years of experience, with a significant focus on healthcare architecture.
- Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare design principles, patient flow, and medical technology integration.
- Proficiency in Revit , AutoCAD, and other relevant architectural design software.
- Familiarity with healthcare building codes and accreditation standards.
- Strong ability to communicate complex design concepts to diverse stakeholders, including medical professionals.
