Senior Commercial Architect

Our client, a distinguished architectural practice renowned for its commercial developments, is seeking a Senior Commercial Architect to join their team in Benoni, Gauteng . This critical role involves leading the design and execution of diverse commercial projects, including office buildings, mixed-use developments, and retail centers. You will be responsible for managing projects from initial concept through to construction, ensuring that designs are innovative, functional, and commercially viable.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of commercial market demands, building regulations, and construction methodologies. • Lead architectural design teams for commercial projects, overseeing all project phases.
• Develop conceptual designs, master plans, and detailed construction documentation for commercial buildings.
• Collaborate closely with clients, developers, engineers, and contractors to achieve project objectives.
• Ensure designs meet commercial viability, functional requirements, and aesthetic standards.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation effectively.
• Conduct site analysis, feasibility studies, and due diligence for potential developments.
• Review construction progress and ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
• Prepare and present design proposals, reports, and project updates to stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of market trends, new technologies, and best practices in commercial architecture.

• Professional registration with SACAP as a Professional Architect.
• Minimum of 8 years of post-registration experience, with a strong focus on commercial architecture.
• Demonstrated experience in leading complex commercial projects from inception to completion.
• Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver commercially successful outcomes.
• Proficiency in architectural design software, including Revit, AutoCAD, and 3D modeling tools.
• In-depth knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and construction practices relevant to commercial developments in South Africa .
• Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Residency in or willingness to relocate to Benoni, Gauteng .
