Applications are invited for a one-year Clinical Fellow post in Urology (Level ST7+) based at the Department of Urology, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI), Scotland. The post will commence in August 2026 for 12 months from start date.
OverviewThe post is suitable for candidates who have significant experience in Urology overseas or within the UK, and who wish to progress their career further with a view to portfolio development, or for overseas candidates who wish to expand their training and acquire experience of working in a high-volume tertiary referral unit in the UK.
Department Highlights- First unit in Scotland to utilise robotic‑assisted laparoscopic surgical facility for radical prostatectomy, partial nephrectomy and radical cystectomy with intra‑corporeal ileal conduit urinary diversion.
- Early adopters of MRI‑fusion biopsy for prostate cancer detection and photodynamic diagnosis for bladder cancer.
- Exposure to evolving technologies as well as standard surgical procedures.
- Work with existing Consultants specialising in the management and surgical treatment of urological cancer patients.
- Provide outpatient and ambulatory management of patients.
- Participate in a full range of surgical interventions.
- Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC (licence must be in place prior to starting in post).
- MBChB/MBBS and MRCS (or equivalent) required.
- FRCS Urology, FEBU or equivalent overseas qualifications desirable; suitable for candidates who have already obtained these specialist qualifications.
