About the Role

Our client, a dynamic university library in Nelspruit , is seeking a forward-thinking University Librarian with expertise in digital resources. This role is crucial for managing and developing the library's electronic collections, ensuring seamless access to scholarly information for students and faculty. You will lead initiatives related to digital archiving, electronic resource management, and the integration of new technologies into library services.

This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the digital landscape of academic research and learning.

• Manage the acquisition, licensing, and maintenance of electronic databases, journals, e-books, and other digital resources.
• Oversee the library's digital repository and ensure long-term preservation of digital content.
• Provide training and support to library users on accessing and utilizing digital resources effectively.
• Collaborate with faculty and IT departments to integrate digital resources into the curriculum and research workflows.
• Stay abreast of trends in digital librarianship, e-resource management, and emerging technologies.

• Master's degree in Library Science (MLS) or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated experience in managing digital collections and electronic resources in an academic library setting.
• Knowledge of licensing agreements, copyright, and fair use related to digital content.
• Strong technical skills, including experience with library management systems and discovery layers.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
