Subject Head - Natural Sciences

Our client is seeking an experienced and inspiring Subject Head for Natural Sciences to lead the department within their secondary school in Nelspruit . This leadership role requires overseeing the curriculum, faculty, and educational outcomes for subjects including Biology, Chemistry, and Physical Sciences. You will be instrumental in setting high academic standards, mentoring teaching staff, managing departmental resources, and fostering a passion for scientific discovery among students.

• Lead and manage the Natural Sciences department , including curriculum oversight and staff supervision.
• Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to enhance student engagement and achievement in science.
• Ensure the department adheres to national curriculum standards and develops a forward-thinking educational approach.
• Manage departmental budgets, laboratory resources, and equipment procurement effectively.
• Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for science teachers.
• Foster a culture of scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and excellence within the department.

• A Master's degree in a relevant science discipline (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) or Science Education.
• A recognized teaching qualification and a minimum of 7 years of teaching experience .
• At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or Head of Department role.
• Proven track record of improving student outcomes in Natural Sciences.
• Strong understanding of laboratory management and safety protocols.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills, particularly relevant to schools in Nelspruit .
